Daryl Sellar has been involved in the Turf Management industry for over 25 years, completing his Masters Degree in Turf Management in 1999.
During this time he has been actively involved in golf course preparation for tournament, membership, corporate and public use, as well as providing consultancy services to the AFL, SANFL, SACA, Thoroughbred Racing SA, local government and other sectors of the turf industry.
Since 2000, Daryl has overseen the successful redevelopment and ongoing enhancement of Glenelg Golf Club in Adelaide as Course Superintendent, with a strong focus on the creation of a sustainable course.
In this time, Glenelg’s national ranking has risen from the mid 90’s to within the top 30 (Golf Australia), and in 2006 Daryl received the AGCSA’s Excellence in Golf Course Management Award, and the inaugural Golf Digest Superintendent of the Year Award.
Turfwise Consulting was established in 2002, is based in Adelaide, is solely owned and operated by Daryl. In addition to his role as Director, Daryl;
- Is Human Resource and Best Practice Manager for the Australian Golf Course Superintendents’ Association (AGCSA)
- Is Director of LDS Turf Partners, a specialist service provider within the turf industry
- And lectured in Turf Management to Certificate 4, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma students at TAFE SA’s Urrbrae campus for 7 years
